So where did TBA come from?  Back in 2010 when me and Steve where getting ready to make an attempt on Denali we had to fill in a team name on the application form.  It took us a long time to finally agree on a name which sounded good and represented us.  As it turned out, the name would be the easy part; cause then we figured that with a team name we should also have a logo to go with it.  So Steve had a friend that could help us out and soon enough we had a Team TBA logo.  So thats the story as to how TBA officially came together even though we had been climbing together for quite some time.

The first time you could actually say we started climbing was when we made a miserable attemp on Mt St.Helens.   I had just had a baby girl shortly before the trip and was in terrible shape, but we drove down and made a go of it.  We failed miserably but it was the beginning of a wonderful thing.  Paula often says that I got into climbing at the same time we had a baby girl crying and needing diaper changes at home.  I never thought of it like that but it is odd timing, haha.

I do not climb for anyone or anything in particular.  I don't climb to make a name for myself, or to make money or for reasons that I'll be remembered for it; I simply climb cause I enjoy looking back at the places/people and adventures that I have been on.  It somehow brings peace to me knowing the things I have done, and looking forward to the next one.  It's really the memories that I climb for.  You never remember the hours of pain, the hunger, the cold or the long nights; you remember the people you met, the places you've been, the obstacles you overcame and of course the summits you reach.  I've been on climbs I wish I could forget but will always look back at the journey as the best part of the trip.  Sometimes its a dodgy hotel, or finding the towns only computer to finalize plans (you know what I'm talking about steve)  or just a sunrise or sunset that you fondly remember.

Sadly my partner and I do not climb together anymore.  Steve moved away to Winnipeg about a year ago and since then I have begun climbing solo.  I will always look back happily on our years of climbing.  There where times that it didn't work out so smoothly but I now know that those early years where really good times.  We had many a good laughs together and took on some pretty cool things.  We both went to Alaska to climb, and I never thought that that would happen.  Even if we didn't always reach the summits, it didn't matter, we where out there to have a good time.  I do wish that we still climbed together, as we always pushed the envelope and without him I feel a little stagnant.  I don't mind climbing alone as it gives me plenty of time to myself, but its hard to progress by yourself.  I do take courses and still venture out by myself and love it, but you can feel that luck has a bit more to do with you coming home at the end of the day.

This site is full of trips we have taken, but like everything in life there is plenty missing from this site, not everything is here, and check back often as I will be making changes and adding trips that I complete along the way.  I hope you enjoy and don't be afraid to contact me if you want to chat a little about climbing and all that it entails.
